In 1984 three professionals who worked in the field of mental health in the Leicester area had serious concerns about the amount of patients who kept returning to hospital, mainly due to a lack of appropriate housing and effective community support.

This Psychiatrist, Social Worker and Housing Officer decided to do something about it and started up Norton House (now Norton Housing and Support).

Now, thirty five years on, whilst our service has grown our values and ethos remain the same. We continue to provide excellent support and accommodation, empowering service users to be reach their own level of independence in a safe and secure environment.

Norton House values it staff and is proud of its excellent retention record, our staff are what our service.

We believe that our staff team is our greatest asset and the way they are treated is passed on in the way they treat the service users.

Each staff member is valued for their input, they are highly skilled, supported, trained and experienced in supporting people with mental health problems.

During our Investors in People accreditation it was noted that everyone (without exception) confirmed it was a great place to work and were proud to be part of the company.

From our Chief Executive to the front line staff team, everyone is committed to providing excellence in mental health support and ensuring that all of our service users are not just coping but living!
