The Role

You will work across our Leicester based supported housing schemes, providing one-to-one support to Service Users with ongoing mental health needs, some of whom may also have a learning difficulty, be neurodiverse or have a history of drug or alcohol issues. Mileage is paid for travel between sites (45p per mile).

You will use your experience to hold person-centred conversations and deliver positive, engaging and enabling support that motivates and inspires personal development. In conjunction with the Support Manger, you will respond confidently and sensitively to those in crisis, implementing strategies to remove harmful and unhealthy patterns of behaviour.

Working hours are 32 per week, ideally across 5 days but 4 would be considered for the right candidate. No evenings, weekends or night shifts.

Skills and Experience

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • experience of supporting those with a mental health diagnosis and / or those who are neurodiverse.
  • an ability to build therapeutic relationships that enable residents to feel safe, and work through their personal challenges.

Driving licence and use of a vehicle are essential, as the role involves working across several local sites. Those with under 4 years experience in the sector will need to hold a level 3 of above qualification in health and social care or related field.

What’s most important is that you have a real commitment to improving the outcomes of our residents, an emphatic approach and are reliable and resilient.
