We are looking for a Personal Assistant to work on a one to one basis with our Service Users, providing them with support to enable them to live as independently as possible. There is no personal care involved.
lease note that to meet the needs of our Service Users, there is a genuine occupation requirement for the post holder to be female, and the role is exempt under Schedule 9 Part 1 Equalities Act 2010.
We can offer a minimum of 10 hours per week work on an initial six month fixed term contract. There is potential for more hours to cover staff absence and for a substantive contract following the six month period, although this cannot be guaranteed.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience of working in the mental health or care sector. A positive approach to promoting independence is essential, as are excellent communication and organisational skills. As the role involves working in multiple locations, a driving licence and own transport is essential.
The salary is £8.80 per hour. Any offer of employment is subject to two satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check. The Job Description for the role can be found here and the person specification here
